Wilkie Design wasn’t created from a detailed business plan or years of planning. In fact, it began with an unexpected opportunity. My brother was travelling overseas when he met a wholesaler who shipped clothing to Australia. He offered to place the same first order for me that he was organising for someone else, and without knowing exactly where the journey would lead, Wilkie Design was born.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful that I said yes.

What started with a small order of clothing has grown into so much more than a fashion business. It has become a community of women supporting women, sharing laughs, building confidence and discovering that fashion doesn’t have to be intimidating.

From the very beginning, I wanted Wilkie Design to feel different.

I never wanted customers to feel pressured into buying something that wasn’t right for them. If an outfit doesn’t suit someone, I’ll tell them honestly. I’d much rather help a woman find something she truly loves than make a sale she’ll regret. To me, that’s what genuine customer service looks like.

I want every woman who shops with Wilkie Design to feel like she’s walking into a friend’s home, where there’s no judgement, no pressure and no expectations. Just real conversations, honest advice and timeless fashion that helps her feel confident.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive is hearing someone say, “I never would have chosen this, but I absolutely love it.”

That is why I do what I do.

Wilkie Design isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about helping women of every age, shape and size discover clothing that makes them feel comfortable, confident and like the very best version of themselves.

Whether you’ve met me at a market, attended one of our fashion parades, met me at a friends clothing party, visited the mobile boutique, joined a livestream or discovered us online, I hope every interaction leaves you feeling welcome and valued.

My vision is to create an online-first business that continues to inspire confidence through fashion, while still bringing women together through memorable fashion parades and community events across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.

One day, I hope Wilkie Design becomes a household name in Australian Women’s Fashion—not because we sold the most clothes, but because we made women feel seen, supported and confident every step of the way.
